Michigan’s brutal blackened death metal force Throne is our featured band for December 2025! I’ve seen them a few times and my first was playing with them at rage fest last summer. If you know me well enough, I can’t stomach 99.9% of black metal. BUT since I’ve been a fan of the guys since last year they’ve proved I can in small doses. But, the guys blend enough death metal to convince me how solid they are. Just like the greatest blackened death band ever Belphegor, they blend both extreme metal genres seamlessly. They’re signed to Redefining Darkness records. The band dropped its heaviest, filthiest and vile record this year. “That Who Sat Upon Him, was Death” is a brutal ripper. Filthy riffs, great rhythms, sick shred and varied vocals make them the force they are. Also, they’re insane live. Throne rules and deserves more love and traffic. We’re glad to have them close out 2025 for our featured bands. Going out of this year with a serious bang.
