COLDEN – The Erie County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit/Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Colden.
On September 24th at approximately 6:45 p.m., dispatch received a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Heath Road and Hayes Hollow Road. A Traffic Unit sergeant who was operating his patrol vehicle while en route to his home at the conclusion of his shift responded, arriving on scene less than 10 minutes later. The vehicle was observed facing northbound in a ditch on the south side of Heath Road with heavy front-end damage. The traffic sergeant – joined by Erie County EMS and Colden Fire – performed CPR on the operator. After a pulse was detected, the operator was transported to ECMC via Erie County EMS. However, the victim was declared deceased on today’s date at approximately 1:17 a.m.
The victim has been identified as Anne Archibald, 39, of Tempe, Arizona.
