
The Buffalo Police Department has announced that an arrest was made in connection with multiple burglaries this month.
On Sunday, Sept. 7, Sato on Elmwood Avenue reported that an unknown male entered the restaurant and stole approximately $3,500 overnight. The same man was seen on camera entering the restaurant yet again in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept, 7, but was not able to take anything.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, Casa Azul on Allen Street reported that an unknown make broke a window to gain access to the restaurant and stole approximately $1,200 overnight. The suspect also broke the window to the neighboring property but did not enter.
Detectives on the case were able to confirm the same suspect was wanted for both burglaries and the trespassing incident. The suspect was identified and apprehended.
Calvin Laster, 68, of Buffalo has been charged two counts NYS PL 140.20, Burglary in the Third Degree, a class D felony; one county NYS PL 155.35-1, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony; one count NYS PL 145.05-2, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a class E felony; and one count NYS PL 140.10, Trespassing in the Third Degree, a class B misdemeanor.
