The Newark Pilots flew into Sal Maglie Stadium hoping for a victory over the hometown team, the Niagara Falls Americans.

But it’s tough to beat a team at home.

The Americans prevailed thanks in large part to a four-run fourth inning. But runs in the first, third and sixth innings padded the team total to seven.

The Pilots, meanwhile, got a pair of runs in the sixth.

The Americans will return to action on Tuesday, taking on the MUNY League Buffalo Diesel.
