Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Michael R. Jackson, 60, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty on Friday morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class “B” felony).
On Friday, March 1, 2024, at approximately 2:09 p.m., investigators initiated a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Brown Street in the City of Buffalo. The defendant was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and without a valid driver’s license. During the traffic stop, he was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine and a scale. Investigators recovered an additional quantity of cocaine, packaging materials and cutting agents while executing a search warrant at the defendant’s residence on Cayuga Street in the City of Buffalo.
Jackson faces a maximum of 9 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. He remains released on previously posted bail.
DA Keane commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, Buffalo Police Department Intelligence Unit and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force for their work in this investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Noha A. Elnakib of the Raise the Age/Motor Vehicle Theft Insurance Fraud Unit and Assistant Chief Samantha N. King of the Buffalo City Court Bureau.
