The holiday shopping season is officially underway at the historic Broadway Market, located at 999 Broadway in Buffalo. Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon, joined by Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski, Lawrence Dupre, Erie County Legislator District 1, Broadway Market Manager Kathleen Peterson, longtime market vendors and holiday pop-up retailers, kicked off “Holiday Season at the Broadway Market”, a festive weekend event for shoppers who are looking to purchase unique foods, beverages, crafts and special gifts this holiday season.
“The historic Broadway Market is one of the most loved places in Buffalo and Western New York, and a great place to shop for unique food and gifts this holiday season,” said Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon. “I am proud of my administration’s continuing support of the market and grateful to my partners in government for the significant investment going on in and around this historic landmark. Together we are working to preserve the market’s history and set in motion a vibrant future for the market to ensure it is a sustainable and vibrant year-round shopping hub for residents who live in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood, as well as visitors throughout the region.”
Since 1888, the Broadway Market has served members and visitors of the Buffalo and Western New York community. For many families, “Holiday Season at the Broadway Market” has become a favorite tradition during the holiday season. Here’s what you need to know.
- The Broadway Market kicked off its holiday shopping season on Saturday, December 7th, with festivities continuing on Saturday, December 14th and 21st, as well as on Sunday, December 22nd. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Year-round Broadway Market Vendors and additional Holiday Pop-Ups will be on site during “Holiday Season at the Broadway Market”, offering shoppers a chance to purchase special holiday foods, beverages, and gifts.
- Special attractions this season include a Holiday Train and Wine Show on December 21st and December 22nd. This event is free.
- Families can capture pictures with Santa Claus, from noon until 4:00 p.m. on 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, and 12/22, from noon to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00.
Kathleen Peterson, Broadway Market Manager, said, “Our Holiday Pop-Up retailers and year-round vendors are ready to celebrate the holiday season at the historic Broadway Market. This family favorite tradition continues to grow in popularity. We look forward to hosting ‘Holiday Season at the Broadway Market’ on the first three consecutive Saturdays in December, as well as on Sunday, December 22nd. While here, holiday revelers will find all sorts of unique gifts and crafts to purchase in a safe and very festive atmosphere.”

- Monday, December 23 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
