On July 18th, 2020, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested James Spitale, 43, of Gerry, for Menacing 2nd Degree.

The Troopers and Chautauqua County Sheriffs responded to a residence in Gerry for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that the victim was outside when Spitale pointed a loaded crossbow at the victim and threatened to shoot her. Spitale was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Spitale was then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
