Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review! This time I bring to you Footsteps To Nihilism by Gregorious. This new album dropped on July 10th, 2026 and is a fantastic addition to the albums this year.
On this second full length album, Gregorious have created an awesome different journey. Their sound is a Thrash and Death Metal hybrid that incorporates lots of late 90’s and early 2000’s influences, primarily in their vocalist. The instrumentals in the band bring their top tier riffs, grooves and vibes to bring this album together quite nicely. This is one of those albums that is so easy to headbang with how groove centric is is, in such a good way.
Their vocalist Roadkill Riley has this awesome unhinged style that is so chaotic but cohesive at the same time. He has these mid vocals that sound akin to Corey Taylor in Slipknots early stuff along with some spoken passages as well. I also really like just how gorey, explicit and silly the lyrics are in this album. For example my favorite track is Fuck My Dead And Rotting Corpse.
So overall I would give Footsteps to Nihilism a 9/10 on my personal rating scale. I really dig this album and have had it on rotation for about a week now. As always go support the band, stream and even buy their music! Links to socials and streaming are below!
