Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review! This time I bring to your attention Graveborn and their new album Metempsychosis! This album just dropped on April 3rd, 2026 and it is completely self funded.
Graveborn are new to my long list of bands that I know. I remember hearing about them because Jesse Blanchette, one of the guitarists, is also in Leylines whom I’ve reviewed twice now. So I’ve been meaning to check them out, this was the perfect opportunity.
I really enjoyed listening to Metempsychosis, but it really caught my ear towards the end of the album. I initially made notes about Epistatic Drift. On my second and third passes through the album they continued to be the high points for me personally. Epistatic Drift bent my brain a little bit with the electronic break they put in around the 3:00 mark. The way the keyboard was kind of circling around my head while listening was so cool. Then on top of that the way they came out of that was also intriguing. Kind of a quick build up then a wall of sound inspired by the break was dropped on the listener.
Over all I would give this album an 8.5/10 on my own personal scale. Metempsychosis is a very good album and I will be listening from time to time. As always don’t forget to check out Graveborn and their new album. Links to their socials will be below!
