Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review! I bring to you today the band Wiltwither and their album Pure Light which came out on October 31, 2025!
This album is a bit out of my ordinary listening but it was brought to my attention and I really like it! Hardcore is one genre that I don’t usually take a liking too, and this album certainly has many attributes from it. Primarily the vocals are what throw me off but I really enjoy the style of this album. Also the guitar work is a bit repetitive for me but they do a nice job of a keeping it varied.
There were a quite a few moments that caught my ear across this album. One of the first was the chorus section in Worst Case Scenario. It’s quick the first time, but the time second is repeated and longer and a stark contrast from the rest of the track. My favorite groove of the record is on I Can Live In This Moment Forever! It’s this sweet bouncy riff with a neat slide part at the end of the riff in the guitars.
My favorite track on Pure Light has to be Sink Until You Reach The Bottom. It features this nice chorus section and a super heavy breakdown.
Overall I think Wiltwither gave us a great debut full length debut to start! Pure Light gets an 8/10 on my personal rating scale! I really enjoyed this effort and will continue to follow them and see where they head next with their music. As always don’t forget to stream, follow and even buy their music! Links will be below!
