
WILSON — On November 3rd, 2025 at 13:49 hours, Deputy Proch was on patrol on Harris Avenue in the Town of Wilson when he observed a large amount of black smoke emanating from the chimney area of a residence located at 3654 Harris Avenue.
Deputy Proch approached the residence and attempted to extinguish the fire using a portable fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful. Deputy Proch made contact with the homeowner, who was able to safely evacuate the residence without injury. Fire personnel from the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company and the South Wilson Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. The residence sustained fire and smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. An investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
