Buffalo Police Department Announces two arrests were made in connection with multiple gun calls at the Donovan Drive Apartments on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.

Shortly after 4 p.m., Buffalo Police responded to multiple calls of a group of males with hand guns and rifles walking around the Donovan Drive Apartments. Upon arrival, C district officers observed two armed males that immediately fled on foot.

One male fled westbound armed with a handgun and a rifle. Officers observed him throw both firearms into the brush on the train tracks before he was apprehended behind True Bethel Baptist Church. Both weapons were recovered: a loaded Glock 22 with a drum magazine and a loaded SOTA Arms AR-15 style rifle with an extended magazine. Both weapons were recovered.

Another male that fled eastbound was apprehended at 166 Donovan Drive. A loaded Glock 17 with an extended magazine was recovered.

A 16-year-old Buffalo male and Dreandre Gates, 19, of Buffalo have been charged identically with three counts NYS PL 265.03-3, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C felony; three counts NYS PL 265.01-8, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony; and one county NYS PL 165.45-4, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a class E felony. Gates was charged an additional count of NYS PL 260.10-1, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

An investigation into the other males involved remains ongoing.
