SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrests of Marissa Sampson, 33 of Springville, Sylvia Bird, 57 of Springville, John Pfarner, 43 of Springville, and Stephen Warren, 52 of Delevan, after an investigation by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Springville Police Department.
Acting on a tip that was reported to the Community Engagement Team, the Narcotics and Intelligence Unit sought and obtained a search warrant for 192 Woodward Ave. in Springville, Sampson’s person and Sampson’s vehicle. The warrant, which was signed by Hon. Edward Young of Springville Justice Court, was executed at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8. In the house, deputies seized methamphetamine, additional methamphetamine residue and drug paraphernalia. The seizure of these items resulted in the following charges:
- Sampson: 1st degree Criminal Nuisance, 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts), 2nd degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia
- Bird: 1st degree Criminal Nuisance, 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia
- Pfarner: 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, 2nd degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)
- Warren: 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
“This case exemplifies one of the reasons I launched the Community Engagement Team last year,” said Sheriff Garcia. “We need deputies who are embedded in the communities we serve. It leads to tips such as this one. We take quality of life complaints seriously. When members of the public come forward with concerns about their neighborhoods, we act.”
