The Niagara Falls Americans added another notch in their win column on Sunday, besting the Batavia Muckdogs, 8-7 at Sal Maglie Stadium.

It was Batavia that jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning and another in the top of the third. But the the Americans got into a groove, scoring five runs of their own in the bottom of the third.

The home team added another un in the fifth inning, taking a 6-3 lead.

The Muckdogs weren’t going to go down without a fight, though. They added two of their own in the top of the sixth.

The Americans got those runs back in the bottom of the eighth inning, re-taking a three-run lead. And good thing because the Muckdogs scored two more runs in the ninth inning, giving the game an 8-7 final.
