
The Niagara Falls Americans fell to the Elmira Pioneers, 5-3 in Elmira on Sunday.
The Americans got on the board first, scoring a run in the top of the third inning. The lead was short-lived, however, as the Pioneers tied it in the bottom of the third.
Niagara Falls took the lead back in the top of the fifth inning, 2-1. But again, that lead was short-lived. The Pioneers not only tied it, but went up a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Elmira increased their lead to 4-2 in the sixth inning.
Elmira and Niagara Falls traded runs in the seventh, making final score of 5-3.
The Americans head to Newark to take on the league-leading Pilots on Tuesday before returning home on Wednesday to host the Jamestown Tarp Skunks.
