For many people the words, “You’ve been Bloomed!” are sweet to hear. For over a decade, the Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) has been encouraging people to beautify the front gardens of their homes and businesses and awarding them for doing so. Each garden that is chosen to receive the Bloom Award will have a small yellow sign placed in their garden. Kenmore in Bloom runs from June 15-July 13, with Blooming taking place throughout this time.
Bloom Scout training was held this Tuesday, these volunteers who decide who receives the Awards, are now readly to begin Blooming throughout the Village of Kenmore. The Bloom Zone map and additional information can be found on the KVIS website here https://www.villageofkenmore.com/kenmore-in-bloom.html
KVIS President, Melissa Foster said, “Many people work diligently and with great care to create a front garden space that is lovely to look at. It is our delight to be able to let those people know that their efforts are noticed and greatly ap preciated.”
Kenmore in Bloom is made possible by KVIS volunteers and these fine sponsors. The Made for Good shop, Erie County Legislator, Michael Kooshoian, AAA Dennis Trees, Donald Spoth Farm & Greenhouse, Kenmore Garden Club, Lakeside Sod Supply, Lavocat’s Family Greenhouse & Nursery, Lockwoods Garden Center, Mike Weber’s Greenhouses, North town Garden Center, Richard Hess, WNY Rose Society.
The KVIS is a group of volunteers celebrating 17 years of loving up on the community. We strive to help make our neck of the woods as good as possible in as many ways as needed. Membership to the KVIS is free and open to all people living anywhere who care about Kenmore. For more information, please contact KVIS President Melissa Foster at mail@villageofkenmore.com.
All WNY is made possible thanks to coffee and sleep deprivation.
