Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review. Today I have yet another brand new band to me called Sin Deliverance. They released their second full length album called Universe of Nightmares on June 6th, 2025. This Russian deathcore outfit is full of variety in their musical styles.
Universe of Nightmares is full of symphonic arrangements that really compliment the band well. There is nothing worse than when guitar and bass parts are completely overwhelmed and hard to heard under the symphonic sounds. This band does a great job of making sure the guitar parts are heard very clearly. The bass on the other hand is almost non-existent or not there at all, I honestly can’t tell.
I messaged the band and they said all of the music is written by one person Artem Gamov who does the vocals, guitars and keyboard/synth parts. He is joined by a drummer Taras Olegov all of his parts are programmed for this album.
While this band is labeled as symphonic deathcore, I would classify them as progressive death metal more than anything. They have passages that are down right technical or melodic in some cases, they really jump around a lot between styles. I think the deathcore label comes from the vocals and somewhat frequent use of breakdowns.
Empire of Evil my favorite track on the album, I really think that it shows all of the good qualities of the band. The first main riff at around the 30 second mark is this really melodic and technical flurry. It is complimented by a synth unison line when it is repeated a second time. This track is honestly all over the place and that’s what makes me want to label this as progressive. This is one of the tracks to feature an absolutely crushing breakdown. It follows a ridiculous guitar solo after being deceived and thinking there was a breakdown before that! I love musical misdirection like that!
Overall I would have to say this is a very good album! I would comfortably give this offering at 7/10. While it isn’t perfect, it is worth listening quite a few times! As always don’t forget to listen to this music. Streaming and social links will be provided below!
