
WHEATFIELD – On 06/09/2025 at approximately 02:42 hrs, The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a telephone call reporting a structure fire at 2217 Cayuga Drive in the Town of Wheatfield.
When responding patrol units arrived on scene, they observed heavy black smoke coming from the first and second floor windows of a residential home. Patrols were able to determine that the residence was unoccupied. Fire Companies from Bergholz, Niagara Falls Air Reserve Fire Department, Frontier, St. Johnsburg, and North Tonawanda Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire.
The fire is currently being investigated by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit. The cause of the fire was unknown at this time. The estimated cost of damage was unknown.
