The Niagara Falls Americans returned home on Sunday to entertain the Jamestown Tarp Skunks — and the home crowd at Sal Maglie Stadium, of course. And entertain the fans, they certainly did.
The Tarp Skunks got out to an early lead, scoring three in the top of the first inning. But the Americans scored two of their own in the bottom of the first — and then tying it in the bottom of the second.
After a scoreless third inning, The Americans took the lead with two runs in the fourth inning, two more in the fifth inning, and four in the sixth inning, taking a 11-4. lead (Jamestown had scored one of their own in the top of the sixth).
The Americans added another pair of runs in the seventh inning, then held Jamestown to just two more runs before the games end.
Final score: 13-6 Americans.
The Americans next play on Tuesday, when they travel to Jamestown to try their hands at the Tarp Skunks again.
All WNY is a proud partner of the Niagara Falls Americans.
