ST CATHERINES, Ontario — The Niagara Falls Americans went to foreign land on Saturday and came away with a resounding victory, besting the Niagara Ironbacks, 11-3.
The Americans started scoring right away and just never looked back, going up 2-0 in the first inning. They added two more runs in the third inning and another in the fourth before Ironbacks got on the board with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth — the only runs the Canadian team would score during the game.
The Americans, meanwhile, piled on, adding five more runs in the fifth inning and another in the sixth.
The Americans return to Sal Maglie Stadium on Sunday to host the Jamestown Tarp Skunks at 4 p.m.
