Supporting and Donating to an Essential Mission
Compass House is a vital Western New York non-profit organization that provides essential services to runaway and homeless youth. The organization is a lifeline for young individuals ages 12 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness or who are facing adversity and are at risk of becoming homeless. Support provided includes emergency shelter, counseling and support, outreach programs, educational support, rapid rehousing, and more.
Emergency Shelter.
Compass House’s emergency shelter provides a safe haven for youth in crisis, as they receive a bed, meals, clothing, and basic necessities.
Counseling and Support.
Counseling and support services consist of individual and group therapy sessions, life skills workshops, and assistance with finding employment and housing. The organization recognizes the complex needs of homeless youth and works to address them comprehensively.
Outreach Programs.
Outreach programs aim to connect with at-risk youth in the community, providing them with information and resources to prevent homelessness. The organization reaches out to schools, community centers, and other places where youth congregate to offer support and intervention.
Educational Support.
Education is a key component of Compass House’s mission. Tutoring, school advocacy, and assistance with college applications and financial aid help ensure that homeless and at-risk youth have the opportunity to pursue their educational ambitions.
Rapid Rehousing (RRH).
The Rapid Rehousing program helps young homeless adults to get on their feet and into stable housing, as RRH managers provide support in advocacy in working with landlords, and work to place each client in safe housing that feels like home.
Transitional Independent Living.
This housing program accommodates up to 6 young adults aged 18-24 who learn fundamental skills and work towards achieving their goals in an established home. All residents receive case management services, independent living skills, and assistance in securing employment.
Quite simply, Compass House is truly a beacon of hope for homeless and at-risk youth. Its comprehensive services provide safety, stability, and support, helping young people navigate challenging circumstances and build a better future. Supporting and donating to Compass House’s mission is not only an act of compassion, but also an investment in the wellbeing and potential of the youth in our community.
