Opening Day for the Niagara Falls Americans is just 9 days away! In celebration of reaching single-digit days until game time, let’s begin to meet our new Americans!
Matt Barr:
Barr is a 6’6”, 195 pound rising sophomore right handed pitcher majoring in General Studies at SUNY Niagara. This season with the Thunderwolves, Barr has started nine games, earning a win in all of them. He has posted a 1.98 ERA and 0.70 WHIP, with 83 strikeouts throughout his 50 innings pitched. This performance has landed Matt in MLB draft discussions, with MLB.com ranking him as the 145th overall prospect, and Perfect Game has ranked him as the top draft prospect in JUCO baseball. Perhaps Barr’s successes can be credited to an interesting ritual of his, as Matt will eat a whole carton of jumbo blueberries Both before and after every game he starts.
Lucas Feldman:
Feldman is a 5’10”, 185 pound rising junior catcher, enrolled in Genesee Community College’s Business Administration program. This spring with the Cougars, Feldman played in 20 games, batting .324 with a .976 OPS. Lucas loves to go fishing in his free time.
Evan Kohr:
Kohr is a 5’8”, 175 pound rising junior catcher and outfielder from SUNY Niagara, where he studies Sports Management. As a freshman with the Thunderwolves, Kohr played 19 games, batting .357 with a .900 OPS and driving in seven runs. When not playing, Evan loves listening to rap music from the 1990s and 2000s.
Grant Moore:
Moore is a 6’0”, 180 pound outfielder enrolled in Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Emergency Management & Homeland Security program. In the fall, Moore will begin his junior year. At MVNU, Moore has hit for .305 in his career so far, and hit three home runs this season. When away from the field, Grant enjoys duck hunting with his dog Cash.
