TOWN OF HARTLAND – On Monday, May 19th 2025 at approximately 1709 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call for a motor vehicle accident involving a child, that occurred in the driveway of a residence on Ellicott Road.
Deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, where a young child was found to be unconscious and trapped underneath a vehicle. Deputies, along with various EMS, Law Enforcement and community members worked to extricate the child from underneath the vehicle.
Once the child was freed from the vehicle, lifesaving interventions commenced. Mercy Flight arrived on scene and transported the child to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where they are currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
All parties involved in this incident are actively cooperating with the investigation, which appears to be accidental in nature at this time.
