One of our city’s heavier bands Damages has dropped quite possibly their heaviest song yet. “Belligerence” is their latest effort that released today. They are a heavier melodic death metal band and their live shows never disappoint. This track I loved live and caught a preview of it months ago thanks to their exceptional guitarist Dan.

Why, you ask? Well, for one it doesn’t have a plethora of melody. They pushed their at the gates and in flames love aside. It’s considerably heavier, with heavier riffs and an even broader vocal performance from vocalist Evan. As expected the guitar lead is absolutely stellar, and wraps up nicely in a little over 3 minutes. The rhythms are great and has plenty of speed and solid groove too. Damages proves why they’re one of our city’s better bands.

If you don’t know them, dive into their music starting with this smasher. If you like this song or anything else of theirs, please consider purchasing through Bandcamp. Today May 2nd is Bandcamp Friday and the company is waiving their share. All purchases through the website go to bands, which goes quite a way supporting them.
