LOCKPORT – Sheriff Michael Filicetti announces the arrest of 26 year old, Tyrell S. Handley, an incarcerated individual at the Niagara County Correctional Facility.
According to NCSO, on March 29,2025, Handley flooded his cell with toilet water, then soaked a towel in the water and threw it at an officer causing the liquid to come in contact with the officers’ neck and face.
Handley was charged with one count of aggravated harassment of an employee by an incarcerated individual (E-felony). Handley will be issued a later court date for the Town of Lockport Court.
Sheriff Filicetti stated, “this type of criminal behavior is exactly why I have spoken out against the HALT Act. Inmates have no concern for consequences while housed in a correctional facility. We will continue to file criminal charges to curb behaviors and protect our officers.”
