
A real estate website evaluated the love for pizza in America’s largest cities and found that Rochester, New York came out on top.
Clever Real Estate evaluated 100 of America’s largest cities on factors including:
- The number of pizza restaurants per capita.
- The average price of large cheese and pepperoni pizzas on thousands of pizzeria menus (and how they compare to local incomes).
- Clever’s Pizza Passion Score, which reflects Google searches related to pizza in various markets.
- A city’s perceived pizza quality, as measured by a poll of 2,000 Americans.
The survey deemed Rochester to be the “Pizza Capital of America” as a result of one of the highest Pizza Passion Scores (98 out of 100), a high number of pizza restaurants per capita (25 per 100,000 residents), and high average Yelp ratings for pizzerias (4.11 out of 5).
Buffalo, which had the “highest Pizza Passion Score (a perfect 100) ranked fourth overall, tied with Detroit.
