Rink operations extended, with special hours from Feb. 28 – March 2
BUFFALO – The extended forecast of winter weather in Buffalo carries with it at least one positive outcome, as the Ice at Canalside will remain open on select days next week.
Originally set to wrap up operations on Sunday, Feb. 23, the Ice at Canalside will now open on:
- Friday, Feb. 28 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, March 1 from noon to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, March 2 from noon to 6 p.m.
“With the persistent winter weather forecasted for our region, we’re looking forward to extending our season one more weekend this year to allow families a chance to continue to enjoy the outdoors while the cold weather sticks around,” said Lauren Ford, general manager, Buffalo Waterfront.
Buffalo Waterfront reminds Buffalo Public School students, faculty and staff who received vouchers for free skating and rentals, provided by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Rich Family Foundation, to use their passes by March 2.
Families looking for fun activities during February break this week can also enjoy free admission and skate rentals at the Ice at Canalside each day from Feb. 17 to Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon. These free skating sessions are funded by a Project Play WNY Winter Free Play Series grant and supported by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
