The Buffalo Police Department has announced that an arrest was made in connection with a string of burglaries in the Elmwood Village in the past month.

The cases were investigated by B and D district detectives, who were able to identify the same suspect in the following incidents:

  • Tuesday, December 31, 2024 on the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue
  • Monday, January 13 on the 700 block of Elmwood Avenue
  • Saturday, January 18 on the 700 block of Elmwood Avenue
  • Thursday January 23 on the 200 block of Plymouth Avenue
  • Friday January 24 on the 700 block of Elmwood Avenue
  • Friday January 24 on the 200 block of Lexington Avenue

For his alleged role in these six incidents, Ryan Klatt, 34, of no permanent address has been charged six counts NYS PL 140.20, Burglary in the Third Degree, a class D felony; three counts NYS PL 145.05-2, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a class E felony; one count NYS PL 155.30-1, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E felony; four counts NYS PL 155.25, Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor; one count NYS PL 145.00- 1, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and one count NYS PL 165.40, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Klatt also had six arrest warrants for five burglaries and a criminal trespassing in the area in October and November of 2024. The arrest warrants were issued for the following incidents:

Tuesday, October 29, 2024 on the 100 block of Church Street – Criminal Trespassing Thursday, October 31, 2024 on the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue – Burglary Tuesday, November 5, 2024 on the 100 block of Linwood Avenue – Burglary Wednesday, November 6, 2024 on the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue – Burglary Thursday, November 7, 2024 on the 1500 block of Niagara Street – Burglary Wednesday, November 13, 2024 on the 400 block of Elmwood Avenue – Burglary

Detectives are investigating additional incidents in the area. Further charges may be filed.
