BUFFALO POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES an arrest was made Saturday, November 9, 2024 in connection with a homicide that occurred Saturday, September 23, 2023.
At approximately 10:45 a.m. on September 23, 2023, D district officers responded to a call about a suspicious incident in Shaffer Village on Isabelle Street. Upon arrival, officers tracked blood and footprints in a hallway to a dead body in an apartment.
Homicide detectives immediately began an investigation. A suspect was identified. The suspect was apprehended on the 100 block of Hertel Avenue without incident on Saturday, November 9, 2024.
Adalberto Bermudez, 46, of Tonawanda has been charged with one count NYS PL 125.25-1, Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony.
The victim was 39-year-old Jose Barreto-Gonzales of no permanent address.
