LOCKPORT — Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced that four defendants pled guilty to charges relating to a November 7, 2022, house shooting on Hawley Street in the City of Lockport. The investigation revealed that a group of individuals in a vehicle driven by Christina Knight-McCoy drove to a home on Hawley Street where at least two occupants of the vehicle got out and opened fire on the house.
More than 20 rounds were fired into the home where residents were sleeping. The motivation for the shooting was a dispute between juveniles that occurred earlier in the day. Despite bullet holes riddling the home, none of the residents were struck by the gunfire. Knight-McCoy then led police on a chase through the City of Lockport before being stopped on South Street with 5 other occupants in the car, including a juvenile. Three guns were found inside the vehicle.
The following individuals plead guilty for their roles in the crime:
- Quannell J. Armstrong, age 27 of Rochester, plead guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and faces up to 7 years in State Prison.
- Timothy L. Jones, age 31 of Rochester, plead guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and faces up to 7 years in State Prison.
- Christina L. Knight-McCoy, age 50 of Lockport, plead guilty to Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree and faces up to 7 years in State Prison.
- Bettina D. Knight, age 50 of Rochester, plead guilty to Criminal Possession of a Firearm and faces up to 4 years in State prison.
Knight-McCoy, Armstrong, and Jones were remanded to custody pending sentencing. All four defendants return to court on January 22, 2025, to be sentenced by County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek. The case was investigated by the Lockport Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Maria Stoelting and Assistant District Attorney David DeChellis.
