LOCKPORT – On June 9th 2024 at approximately 0439 hours, the Niagara County Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a vehicle striking a house at 5377 Ridge Road in the Town of Lockport.  Deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded, and discovered an SUV had left the roadway, struck a home, rolled over and crashed into a utility pole.

The operator of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. Mobile personnel and NCSO Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Team (Drone) were utilized in a search for the driver. The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Timothy Outten of Gasport was located a short distance away and transported by ambulance to ECMC for evaluation. The homeowner was inside of the residence, uninjured.

The Town of Lockport Building Inspector was called to evaluate the structural integrity of the residence. Outten was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and released at ECMC on appearance tickets. Outten was also issued multiple Universal Traffic Tickets for the accident and given a future court date in the Town of Lockport.
