Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that 20-year-old Jameer M. Woods, also known as “Jaja,” of Buffalo pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes to two counts of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felonies), one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to all counts in the indictment ahead of jury selection in his upcoming trial, which was scheduled to begin next week.
On Sunday, August 28, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the defendant fatally shot two people and seriously injured another person with illegal handguns. The crime occurred inside of an apartment on the 700 block of Parker Boulevard in the Town of Tonawanda. Two of the victims, Antoyn Williams, 51, of Buffalo and Kristina Perez, 36, of Hinsdale, were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim, a 56-year-old male, was taken to ECMC where he was treated for injuries.
Woods faces a maximum of 75 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. He remains held without bail.
