TOWN OF NIAGARA — On May 26th, 2024 at 1600 hours, Deputy Ross observed a vehicle traveling on Military Road. The vehicle made abrupt lane changes multiple times while failing to signal. During the course of the subsequent Traffic Stop, Deputy Ross observed signs of drug impairment from the operator, identified as MEKHI MILLER, a 20-year-old-male from the City of Niagara Falls.

There was a one year old child and an 8 month old child in the vehicle, both in improper child restraints. As the result of the investigation, MILLER was arrested for Driving while Impaired by Drugs. MILLER was transported to NCSO where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). In addition to DWI-Drugs, MILLER is charged with: Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – Leandra’s Law (Felony), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misdemeanor), and multiple VTL violations which include: improper child restraint, improper turn signal, and moving from lane unsafely.

The children were turned over to a family member. MILLER was remanded to the Niagara County Jail where he will be held for Centralized Arraignment.
