COLDEN – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the Erie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the Town of Colden.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, May 20th, patrol was dispatched to the area of Center Street and Darien Road for a report of a crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle. Patrol arrived at the scene to find the motorcycle down with the operator appearing to have been thrown from the bike. The driver of the sedan remained on scene. Neither he nor his passenger were injured.
The motorcyclist was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Steven Morrissey, 41, of Colden. The investigation continues at this time.
