SPRINGVILLE — Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports the arrest of 24-year-old, Austin Smith of Springville, following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
On today’s date, at approximately 11am, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, served a NYS Search Warrant for the residence located at 227 Mill Street, Village of Springville. Smith was located outside the residence and detained without incident.
Located inside the residence was in excess of 1/8 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, scales and baggies. Smith was taken into custody, transported for processing and charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd Degree – Methamphetamine/Intent to sell – Class B Felony;
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance – 7th Degree – Class A Misdemeanor;
- Criminal use of Drug Paraphernallia – 2nd Degree (2 Counts) – Class A Misdemeanor.
Smith was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
