LOCKPORT – Niagara County Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti announces the arrest of 39-year old,  Kristal D. Shaw, a visitor at the Niagara County Correctional Facility.

According to a release from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, corrections officers intervened when they witnessed Shaw attempting to pass suspected narcotics to an incarcerated individual she was visiting.

Shaw was charged with one count of Promoting Prison Contraband in the second degree (A Misdemeanor). Shaw was given an appearance ticket for the Town of Lockport Court for formal arraignment. The suspected narcotics were sent to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Forensic lab for processing.

Sheriff Filicetti said, “This is another example of the great work being done by our staff in the correctional facility.  Keeping dangerous contraband outside of our walls is critical to a safe operation.”
