Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Calvin Haskins, 34, of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge Rebecca Town on three counts of Assault in the First Degree (class “B” violent felonies) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (class “A” misdemeanor).

It is alleged that on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at approximately 9:05 a.m., the defendant stabbed three staff members with a knife, injuring two of them critically.

Haskins is scheduled to return before Buffalo City Court Judge Rebecca Town on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for further proceedings. He was remanded pending the results of a forensic examination.

If convicted of the highest charge, Haskins faces a maximum sentence of 75 years in prison.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work on this case.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine M. Garvey of the Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
