Niagara County Manager Rick Updegrove today announced that all Niagara County office buildings and offices will be closed on Monday, April 8 for the solar eclipse, with the exception of the Board of Elections.  Some essential employees will still be required to report.

“After consulting with our public safety leadership team, it became apparent that closing county office buildings was the best course of action, especially with a favorable forecast that will undoubtedly increase what was already expected to be a heavy volume of visitors to our community,” said Updegrove.

Updegrove pointed out that the Board of Elections, consistent with state law, must be open on Monday to accept filings related to primary candidate petitions that are due tomorrow.
