On February 8th, 2024 at 17:37 Hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call reporting a shed on fire in the yard of 5999 Leonard Court in the Town of Newfane.
Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and found that the fire had been mostly extinguished by the resident. The remaining hot spots were subsequently extinguished by members of the Olcott Volunteer Fire Company who also responded to the scene.
The small wooden shed housed a 2023 Can-Am ATV and power tools, all of which was a loss valued around $18,000.00 It is believed that airborne embers from a nearby ground fire ignited the blaze. No injuries were reported.
