Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old James B. White, Jr. of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Tiffany R. Perry on two counts of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felonies). 

It is alleged that on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at approximately 8:50 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot two people inside of a home on East Utica Street near Main Street in the City of Buffalo. One victim, a 29-year-old male, died at the scene. The second victim, a 24-year-old male, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where he was pronounced deceased. 

 White is scheduled to return on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. He was held without bail. 

If convicted of both charges, Banks faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison. 

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation. 

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
