Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Michael F. Ickowski, Jr. of Cheektowaga was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to 5 years of probation.
Between December 6, 2022 and June 11, 2023, the defendant stole $78,615.58 while working as an accountant for a fitness center in the Town of Amherst by fraudulently depositing cash revenue into his personal bank account.
Ickowski pleaded guilty to one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree (Class “C” felony), the highest sustainable charge, on November 21, 2023. As part of the plea, he signed a Confession of Judgment to pay full restitution to the victim. He has since paid the full restitution amount of $78,615.58 to the victim.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan A. Emmerling of the Special Investigations and Prosecutions (SIP) Bureau.
