On January 1, 2024, Troopers out of SP Amity arrested Michael L. Gerbes, 29 of Andover, NY for Driving While Intoxicated- BAC > 0.08, Driving While Intoxicated with previous conviction within 10 years and other vehicle and traffic infractions.
On January 1, 2024, at 12:59 A.M., Troopers responded to a one vehicle collision on State Route 417 in the town of Andover. While interviewing the operator, Gerbes an odor of alcoholic beverage was present. Gerbes was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs and transported to SP Amity for processing. The vehicle was removed from the ditch.
Gerbes was issued traffic tickets returnable to the town of Andover Court for a later date in January 2024.
