On December 28, 2023, at 10:07 P.M., Troopers out of SP Fredonia responded to a two-vehicle collision on State Route 39 in the town of Hanover.
Investigation determined that a 2015 Subaru was traveling west bound on State Route 39 and crossed the center line entering the east bound lane striking a 1992 Honda head on. The operator of the Subaru, Milly A. Garcia, 24 of Gowanda, NY was transported to Erie County Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. The operator of the Honda, Miranda M. Farley, 31 of Ripley, NY was deceased at the scene. Two passengers in the Honda, Angela L. Waldemarson, 31 of Westfield, NY was the front passenger and William S. Hamilton, 42 of Portland, NY was in the rear seat, both taken to Erie County Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.
The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
