CAMBRIA — On December 25, 2023 at approximately 1940 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Communication Center received several calls reporting a possible attached garage and house fire at 5838 Shawnee Road.
Reports also indicated the fire had spread to a pickup truck and RV in the driveway. The first arriving units confirmed the garage, pickup truck, and RV were all fully involved with the fire already spreading into the residence. Personnel from responding fire companies arrived and began to extinguish the fire. Fire personnel were then able to enter the structure to continue fighting the fire from the inside.
The fire was subsequently extinguished by the responding fire companies. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a possible ankle injury. The investigation into the cause of the fire is being handled by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit. The residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
