On November 3, 2023, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of Troop A arrested JaJuan J. Hunt, 19 of Buffalo, NY, Kevin L. Tucker, 19 of Tonawanda, NY, Dreon D. Jones, 18 of Buffalo, NY and Kahill J. Reeves, 20 of Buffalo, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Hunt was additionally charged with Unlawful Fleeing and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree for his operation of the motor vehicle.
On November 3, 2023, at approximately 4:30 P.M., Troopers attempted to make a traffic stop on a stolen 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling on East Delavan in the city of Buffalo. The operator, Hunt failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated. The stolen Jeep stuck multiple vehicles at the intersection of Parkside and Hertel Avenue and came to rest after losing a wheel at Hertel and Wallace Avenue in the city of Buffalo. All four suspects fled on foot and were taken into custody by Troopers and Officers from Buffalo Police Department. During the investigation a loaded 9mm was recovered and none of the suspects have a pistol permit. All four suspects were taken to SP Buffalo for processing and transported to Buffalo Holding Center for centralized arraignment.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, NYSP Community Stabilization Unit, Buffalo Police Department and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office assisted in this investigation.
