CAMBRIA — On October 26, 2023 at approximately 07:41 hours, the Niagara County Communications Center received calls several calls about a motor vehicle accident involving an SUV and Tractor Trailer accident at the intersection of Ridge Road and Cambria-Wilson Road in the Town of Cambria. Niagara County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene to find a tractor-trailer, laying on its side, leaking diesel fuel. The tractor trailer had been hauling stone that was spilled from the trailer and spread across the ground and roadway. The SUV involved sustained heavy front-end damage. There were no injuries reported on scene, however; first arriving deputies did have to assist the driver of the tractor-trailer with exiting the cab of the truck.
Personnel from the Cambria Fire Company, South Wilson Fire Company, Niagara County Haz-Mat and the Niagara County Fire Coordinator’s Office were also on scene. The driver of the SUV was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device. The road was closed for a period of time for clean-up and further investigation.
