Incarcerated individual Harold O. McDonald successfully completed requirements for his GED and English 101.  Incarcerated individual Philip C. Thibault completed requirements for his GED, English 101, and English 102.

The following incarcerated individuals completed 100 hours for the Carpentry Program Certificate:

  • Mark E. Bolden
  • Alexander J. Dracup.

GED services as well as the Carpentry Program are provided by BOCES and the English 101 and 102 are provided by NCCC.  The Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with NCCC and ORLEANS/NIAGARA BOCES provide incarcerated individuals with programs that will prepare them to have a better chance of success upon discharge from the facility.

Sheriff Michael Filicetti added, “The programs provided by BOCES and NCCC provide a great base for future success.  My hope is some of these individuals will further their education once they are back in the community.  The goal is to reduce recidivism and change outcomes.”
