CAMBRIA — On September 28, 2023, at approximately 22:27 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a radio transmission from Deputy Kenny, an off-duty Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputy, reporting a motor vehicle accident with serious injury at the intersection of Lockport-Cambria Townline Road and Upper Mountain Road in the Town of Cambria.

Preliminary investigation shows that two motorcycles were traveling southbound on Lockport-Cambria Townline Road. When the first motorcycle was at or approaching the intersection the second motorcycle struck the first in the rear end. Both drivers appeared to have been ejected from their motorcycles.

The driver of the first motorcycle, 68-year-old Jerry P. Rosh of Lockport, was transported to ECMC for medical evaluation and treatment. The driver of the striking motorcycle, 46-year-old Joann M. Schneegold of Lockport, was transported to ECMC with serious injuries.

Both parties continue to recover from their injuries at this time. Investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit into the incident is continuing. ###
