In celebration of Music Director JoAnn Falletta’s 25th anniversary concert season with  the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the BPO is thrilled to announce the digital release  of 20 of their favorite albums on streaming platforms. Released between 2001 and  2021 as CDs from the BPO’s own record label, Beau Fleuve Records, this collection  showcases the orchestra’s rich history, consistent prowess, and diverse repertoire  cultivated under Falletta’s artistic leadership. It is with great pride and excitement that the BPO continues their journey with Naxos – the classical music label with which the  orchestra has collaborated for over 35 additional albums – for listeners across the  globe to enjoy these world-class and diverse recordings.

The albums span two decades of Maestro Falletta’s tenure with the BPO, featuring  famous symphonic works, contemporary pieces, and rarely recorded compositions.  Significant moments for the orchestra are chronicled through this immense selection:  their acclaimed tour of Poland in 2018; multiple Florida tours for the WNY family  residing there; highlights from JoAnn Falletta’s International Guitar Concerto  Competition; past and present BPO musicians’ solo performances; works  commissioned by the orchestra; and special recordings from

the BPOnDemand broadcasts, created for audiences throughout the pandemic.

Falletta comments on this momentous addition to the orchestra’s digital library: “Our  Beau Fleuve albums represent the voice of the BPO in a special way. All of the discs  were recorded live and reflect the exuberant sound and dramatic personality of our  musicians, in a wide variety of orchestral repertoire. I love the entire collection, but have  a particular fondness for the two we created during the pandemic – The Four  Seasons and Light in a Time of Darkness – because we were able to share our music  with people at a time when they especially needed that joy in their lives.”
