For many years the Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) has held an annual large one day event called Dog  Days of Kenmore. This year the event has been extended from one day to several months. Every Wednesday for the  rest of the summer, area rescue groups will be bringing adoptable dogs to Kenmore. The Little Dog Days will take place  from 3:30-6:30 pm each Wednesday at the KVIS meeting space at 7 Warren Ave, Kenmore NY 14217. People are invit ed to stop in to meet the dogs and learn about the rescue organizations. Each Wednesday will also feature raffles and  give-aways to add to the fun. The KVIS plans to bring back the big one day Dog Days of Kenmore event next year.

“The human/canine bond is important and we know that these friendships help to make us feel good. Science backs up  the fact that having a loving relationship with a pet does indeed help us to reduce stress and be healthier,” said KVIS  President, Melissa Foster.

Each week the dogs who will be at the event will be featured on the KVIS facebook page at www.facebook.com/ kenmorevillage. Rescue groups schedule for July and August are Joyful Rescues, Awesome Paws Rescue, Rescue Buf falo, Buffalo CARES, Buffalo Underdogs, Open Arms Rescue, Nickel City Rescue.

The KVIS is a group of volunteers celebrating 15 years of serving the community. We strive to help make our neck of  the woods as good as possible in as many ways as needed. Membership to the KVIS is free and open to all people liv ing anywhere who care about Kenmore.  For more information, please contact KVIS President Melissa Foster at mail@villageofkenmore.com.
